Open Startup opens the doors of startups. The annual event, launched in Bordeaux in March 2020 by TRACTR, introduces the ecosystem to people who are not part of it yet. The podcast, hosted by Guillaume Commagnac, gives the floor to founders: more than 80 episodes.

Context and challenges
TRACTR experienced Startup Open House in Montréal, then put its technical skills at the service of the event. Back in France, Guillaume Commagnac wanted to create the same openness there, with the agreement of the original organizers and under a different name: Open Startup. The principle fits in one day: startups, incubators and accelerators open their doors, and visitors discover what stands behind an application or a product, from the back-end developer to the Product Owner.
What we did
An open house day
The first edition took place in early March 2020, in Bordeaux. The event became annual and was also held twice in Nantes. In 2023 it took place on 18 October in Bordeaux and on 19 October in Nantes, from 2 pm to 6 pm, with free entry to the startups’ offices.
Hundreds of startups
At each edition, hundreds of startups, incubators and accelerators welcome hundreds of participants.
An event of La French Tech’s 10 years
Open Startup was one of the flagship events of La French Tech’s 10 years.
A podcast
Founders tell their story, with discussions on financing, communication, recruitment, product and AI. The podcast has more than 80 episodes, on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Deezer.
A web platform designed by TRACTR
TRACTR designed the web platform used to organize the event, first for Startup Open House in Montréal in 2018, then for Open Startup: an interactive map of startups, registration of their profile, moderated then validated before it appears, and a visit list for each visitor. It is no longer in service: the current site is the podcast’s.
